Reflexology

From the moment people lay back in the reflexology chair, I hear and see the deep sigh of relief. They are thankful for moments away from the rush of life, and grateful for the nurturing and relaxation that comes from receiving reflexology.

By the way, someone already asked the question, "Is what you do at all like the reflexology you get at the little shops in the mall or around town?" Being one who loves to receive reflexology, I have frequented such places, and I have found that there is no comparison between what a certified reflexologist does and the relaxing foot massage you receive in many retail outlets, or even a spa, for that matter. Some retail outlets have been shut down for having only a business license, but no state license or certification to administer massage or reflexology. The state of Tennessee licenses those who have received at least 200 hours of training in reflexology. Most licensed massage therapists are only required to take 15-30 hours of reflexology training. I graduated from a reflexology school with 320 hours of education and supervised clinical practicum. So, if you are imagining what reflexology is like, based on an experience you had where a foot massage is advertised as reflexology, or along with massage therapy; unless your practitioner was trained specifically for reflexology, in my opinion, there is little comparison.

Reflexology has been researched in over 70,000 peer reviewed, published case studies.*

In spite of all of the care-giving that I do these days, by God's grace, I am thankful to report that I graduated with honors from the Nashville Academy of Reflexology, and am now a registered, certified Reflexologist through the State of Tennessee's Board of Health. Whether you're struggling with your health in some area, or you want to maintain good health, reflexology is a great choice for both!
